Welcome! I’m Kelly Duffy, the Duffy behind “Dinner with the Duffys.” I’m a wife, mom, Tracy Anderson addict and lover of food. ALL food. Oh, and wine. I really love wine. I am a busy mom of two girls and I work full-time. I was not always the meal planning type. I was definitely more of a hit the grocery store every night and see what looks good type but that came to a crashing halt when I went back to work and had carpool, homework, soccer practice and bedtime on top of my 7:30 – 3:30 schedule. Instead, I now sit down in front of my computer for an hour over the weekend and find meals for the upcoming week. The secret to my success is Harris Teeter home shop. I find my recipes, add the ingredients to my cart and pick up my groceries four hours later – fridge is stocked for the week so I have more time in my days and spend less money because I’m not in the store buying whatever new flavor Oreo has released that month. BUT GUESS WHAT – you don’t have to waste an hour of your day – I am doing the hard part for you!! My food philosophy is to eat as healthy as I can while still enjoying the food I put into my mouth. I scour blogs, Pinterest and other sites daily to find the most delicious and healthy dinner options on the planet. And then I share them with you so all you have to do is add the items to your grocery cart!
I am a firm believer in exercise. I exercise for a multitude of reasons but mostly for my sanity. To carve out this time for myself (even if I’m cursing the entire time) is my therapy. Tracy Anderson is my jam. LOVE HER. It’s hard, I’m not going to lie. And it can be long but when I finish my daily streaming with Tracy Anderson I feel like I can conquer the world or at least have the strength to put my children to bed! I believe in the exercise + healthy food = happiness equation because as I age it’s the only concoction that actually works. But maybe that’s just me and my sloth like metabolism!
My reason for this blog is simple – to help give you ideas for healthy, delicious and quick meals so you have more time for you and your family. Life is hard. The struggle to find the time to do and be all the things that Pinterest tells us we are supposed to do and be is real. If this blog gives you ten minutes back everyday then I’ve succeeded. Hell, one minute.
Thank you for finding me. I’d love to hear from all of you!!
Happy, Healthy Eating Friends!
