Thanksgiving is without a doubt my favorite holiday of the year because it’s only about eating, drinking, relaxing and giving thanks. There are no gifts to purchase, no cards to send – all you have to do is spend time with the ones you love. When it comes to hosting, there is no doubt the food is the star of the show but you can create a tablescape that will rival the yumminess. For my Turkey Day table, I try to find ways to create a festive, yet comfortable, setting to make my guests feel at home. I find that keeping it simple is the way to go.
My hands down, favorite dining purchase of all time are these white Classic Rim Dinner Plates from Pottery Barn. We use them every single day. Seriously – every, single, day. White is so easy to incorporate into any table setting and can easily be dressed up or down. These white dinner plates from Amazon are almost identical and half the price for six!
OK so these turkey placemats are kind of my jam. They also make the most adorable traditional Santa face mats that I’m eyeing for Christmas. I love when I find a festive element, to incorporate into my holiday decorating, that won’t break the bank – and one I can throw away at the end of the evening. My kids love having these funky turkeys on the table.
I’m a firm believer in using what you have to decorate. Take a look around your house, keeping in mind the color tones you are using on your table. Normally these gold votive candle holders reside in my living room but during the holidays you can find them on my mantle or dining room table. This set of six is currently on sale and I’m just a wee bit obsessed.
I like to keep the floral portion of my table mostly green for Thanksgiving – every now and again I will throw in some white roses but more often than not, I default to greenery. My favorite – magnolia leaves. The two tone of the leaf is just gorgeous for the holidays. Plus – super inexpensive and has some staying power. I had The Charleston Flower Market create this gorgeous garland but you can absolutely make something similar yourself. There is an awesome DIY video HERE!

Chargers // Tava Flat Round // Other favorites – Terra Wicker // Natural Jute
Disposable Dinner Napkin // Mydrap -That’s right, I said disposable. These cotton dinner napkins come on a roll of 12 or more, are washable, or just toss them after use. For $2.66 a piece, you can afford to do so. Also come in a variety of colors! Perfect for entertaining.
Disposable Table Runner // Hester & Cook – Again with the disposable but I’m telling you, it’s the way to go. This runner is heavy duty and looks gorgeous for the holidays. When you are finished, just pull it off and toss it in the trash. Doubles as wrapping paper!
