I was starving last Sunday morning, and craving something seriously yummy, so I concocted the best tomato, basil, salami flatbread recipe. It has everything you need in a pizza – salty, cheesy, meaty with just a little bit of sweet & spice. When building a simple flatbread, the ingredients you use are key. Quality cheese and meat are the building blocks to an incredible pizza.
The best pre-shredded cheese, hands down, is @Tillamook. It actually feels like shredded cheese – not like coated plastic. I recently purchased their Mexican shredded cheese for the first time and the flavor is bananas!
My other must is @applegate genoa salami. No antibiotics or nitrates. Ava could live off of this stuff. Great for after school snacking!
What You Need
- Stonefire Flatbread
- Basil Pesto (I like Mezzetta. Comes in a jar)
- Bag of Tillamook Mozzarella
- Applegate Genoa Salami
- Cherub Tomatoes
- Salt, Pepper & Red Pepper Flakes
- Olive Oil for Brushing
Lightly brush the entire flatbread with olive oil. This will help your flatbread to slightly brown. Next, lay down your salami and sprinkle with cheese. Top cheese with halved cherub tomatoes & drizzle flatbread with basil pesto. Finish with salt, pepper and red pepper flakes for a little heat!
