Easter is going to look a little different for all of us this year – watching Easter mass, from the couch, wearing pjs??!! Seems so wrong. My crew is actually doing something out of the Easter norm. Back on March 20th, when the quarantine mandate was issued, our super close neighbors decided we would quarantine as a unit. That way our kids could still play together and the adults could still interact with one another. We agreed to only visit outside and avoid touching.
With Easter on the horizon we made the decision to celebrate the holiday together, Masters style, as the week of April 6th was scheduled to be Masters week. (Major golf tournament in Augusta, GA) One of our friends works for a golf course so he gifted each of us a golf hole in our yard – cup, pin, flag and all. It’s pretty awesome. We have five houses participating so when you drive thru our neighborhood, you see five different golf hole flags waving. I’m not exactly sure of the golf tournament rules but I’m all in on what food will be served. Because it’s The Masters, we landed on Masters fare – egg salad, pimento cheese, bbq and club sandwiches. Not your typical Easter dishes but it’s themed and I love a theme.
While I’m super excited about our unconventional Easter I still find myself day dreaming about what I would have cooked had we landed on a more traditional meal. For those of you not hosting a Masters Easter, the below may help give you some inspiration. I’m sharing a number of my favorite traditional dishes below.
